help me brainstorm
a few months back a group of us got together and started talking and the beginnings of planning an event that would gather united methodists together under a spirit of 'open source.' it would be 'open source' in that it would help to teach, bring to light, support the varied methods of using technology in ministry. it would be 'open source' in that not everything would be a lecture, but many gatherings would be conversations based on the needs of the groups. all this would be to the benefit of the mission of the church, specific target, but not limited to methodist communities. sound good?
well, this dream is becoming a real possibility. as we move forward i'd like some input in brainstorming ideas. so chip in some thoughts, answer one question, each question or just throw down a whole new idea.
- what would you hope to gain from a church conference specifically talking about technology and church?
- who might you invite as prominent/progressive voices?
- where would be a cool venue for something like this (think 300 +/- people)?
- should john get an invitation?
- how would the blogging community support/participate/benefit from such an event?
- what should we call this thing?
- how much would you pay for a picture with shane?
