i don't want to take attention away from the events around the world with this post, but in time, this might become a large part discussion. when i got home late last night from dinner, i caught this program on pbs. it was quite late, so i stayed awake for as much of it as possible, but not all, so i won't make a full comment on it.
in brief the congregation is a capsule of first united methodist church of germantown, which is a section of philadelphia. the church is going through a change with a new minister, changes in worship, dropping attendance, & a minister who comes out as openly lesbian. oh, did i mention that the church prides itself on social justice? that too.. check it out if you get a chance. when i have an opportunity to view it fully, i'll give you my take.
