st. benedict would say not to get involved in politics. maybe that is why i haven't read a political book since ross perot's book bashing nafta (north american free trade agreement). here's a read that i am intrigued by. former governor of new jersey & director of the epa christy todd whitman writes about the war between the moderates and right wing republicans. her fellow moderates get brought out when needed but are opposed by their own party off camera. it is a book written to bring the party back inline with party principles to work towards the common good.
can this have some parallels for the church? i can't help but see people start to push their right/left, conservative/liberal, or evangelical/traditional church agendas without any tolerance for others views.. hmmm.. i might read my first political book in a decade.. watchout.
