Well I am a little numb here but figured I would tell you the latest on son Shawn. He heard today he was being sent over to Iraq next month. He leaves January 16th for Mississippi where he will do some training for two weeks and from there go over to Kuwait and then to Iraq. There were 47 of them told today of this plan and they will join the 3000 from Tennessee who went over a few months ago.He will be in the Regional combat Team 278.I always hate to pass on facts so hopefully Shawn will keep all the addresses and let you all know.He is being assigned to a Captains slot in a maintenance Group over there.Shawn wants to go and support his country but its not what Tiffany and I want him to do at all. Please keep him in your prayers as well as Tiffany who needs all of us behind her with this big move and having to be alone for maybe a year or more.Love to you all.

i received this email from my mother this evening. my brother is being deployed to iraq. currently i am in a bit of shock. my intellectual self says "shawn is not unlike any other of the other troops that have shouldered a cause for our country. i believe in what he & others are fighting for. i know he will be someone who represents our country with the greatest of class." my emotional self, however, is breaking in ways that i am having a hard time understanding. i do know one thing, this has become clear in his prior deployment orders (which were put on hold) is that the hardest job in our free world is that of a soldiers wife. maybe it's evident that life's been a bit crazy here since coming back home to nashville. this only fills out more incomplete thoughts. guess i walk this world a whole lot more confused than i am willing to be honest about.
love ya bro.. i'd salute you,
but you always say i do it wrong &:~D
