i was intrigued by a conversation last week and this article by umc.org. it calls to question the ethics found in today's technological society. pastor's rip sermons off the internet, individuals download music illegally, gambling and pornography have found new avenues to their audiences. one quote was interesting to me.
The Web is a human creation, and humans are ethically bound to oversee it in the spirit of Jesus Christ, says the Rev. Frederick W. Schmidt, director of spiritual life and formation at Southern Methodist University’s Perkins School of Theology in Dallas.
you can't argue with the human creation part. it's a bit much to say we are bound to oversee it. however, in the world of blogging, where people are not marketing/shopping for a buck, but sharing ideas, thoughts, emotions, etc. is there such a thing as faithful blogging? are we to blog in a spirit that is consistent with the life of Christ? what does this look like?
