"Don't be afraid. I'm here to announce a great and joyful event that is meant for everybody, worldwide: A Savior has just been born in David's town, a Savior who is Messiah and Master. This is what you're to look for: a baby wrapped in a blanket and lying in a manger."
today i was challenged to think. what must one have thought when they were told that their Savior & Messiah was to be found in a feeding trough? what is God's statement by having his Son in a feeding trough?
funny, i've never been asked to think why Jesus was found in the manger. truth be told, as a child i never knew the manger was a feeding trough, i always thought it was the stable of the animals. so what's the big deal there. could this be that God is already sending a message that we are to be humble. humble in the presence of others. but even in our best days of humility, we still are short of how a powerful God is able to humble himself before us all.
