today our area was hit by numerous tornados. some 8 people have died as a result of the storms, possibly more. hidden in this cloud i believe is one of the major tornados. after watching this cloud formation daniel (our facilities guy, and a volunteer firefighter/emt) had his radio go off with reports of damaged cars and mass casualty.
i knew it was really bad when metro urban search and rescue's tracktor trailer's rolled by, then seeing franklin's rescue units (which is some one hour drive away) show up reinforced that too.
note: this is my church on the right in hendersonville. what you are looking at is the town of gallatin or over the shoney's is the west side of hendersonville which also got hit.
updates: as we catch up with friends we find more and more stories of survival, thank God, they are survival stories. one friend was caught in his car, when he saw one of the tornado's he drove towards a building with the intent on taking cover there. before he could get to the building his car was picked up and tossed. when he got out of his car he saw the building he was heading for and it had been completely flattened.
