this was the first video i saw of this type. seeing this let's me know that people have too much time, i'm so glad that they have that time.

i had to drop off my computer at the shop today. apparently yesterday morning it didn't care to wake up from it's restful sleep. i'm hoping it gets better soon, but i'm already thinking of the future.

i'm off this weekend to beersheba assembly grounds for our last summer retreat. it's my favorite conference retreat of the year. i'll get to see some of my fav people in the world too. i'll be trying to convince jonathon to start blogging again while i'm there. i would suggest leaving lame comments on his last post to help influence him.

seeing pictures like these remind me of things like this. i know people are passionate, but if you are going to spend the time to write big letters and form them into words, be sure to check your spelling.

• the umph should start looking in to expanding it's vbs for adults. the learning pieces are good, but i'll suggest we leave out the songs.
• i got invited to an emergent umc colloquy (i had to ask jay what that meant) at church of the resurrection leadership institute in oct. anyone wanna meet up for lunch or dinner? i'm pretty excited about it
• jared is doing some balanced reporting of the bellevue community church pastor removal. as it seems there was much going on behind the scenes.
• good shepherd umc is helping with some of the rebuilding stuff with extreme home makeover.
• In July, former peace activist Christiaan Briggs, 30 (who had gone to Iraq in 2003 to protest the impending U.S. attack), was arrested in Islington, England, and charged with knocking a man out (leaving him in a coma) in a fight after he allegedly hit on the man's girlfriend. news of the weird

i thought it was just a tennessee joke

i was doing some internet research for a wedding i was asked to perform for one of my best friends. while i was a bit encouraged by what i found for my specific needs, i took a stroll over to tennessee requirements.. this caught my attention.

Cousin Marriage: Yes. First cousin marriage is allowed. All consanguineous prohibitions in Tennessee refer to lineal relations. Cousins are lateral relations and are therefore not prohibited.
