i am back home now from chicago & the aurora district training day. in all things seemed to go very well. i was worn out after everything that i fell asleep in the car on the ride to the airport. thanks to jim for shuttling me around. everyone was way welcoming and a joy to meet & talk too. i'll be posting notes from what we dove into. for now, some reflections
- hotel fire alarms at 7am are not the best way to start a morning
- always have back ups of data files and extra dvd cd's
- i forget how wonderful it can be to stand back and hear a community singing in worship
- i think i bashed jay a bunch... or maybe not
- had the best training lunch i've ever had. bread bowl and soup, yummie
- learned of open song, an open source song display software, i'm excited to try that out
- chicago is big, real big, and flying in and out of mid-way it feels like you are landing on houses or clipping their rooftops
things went well, whatever i said (and i said a lot) people seemed to respond with interest and levels of passion. i won't be offended though if some forget due to a bears game. go bears
