Time to make the ice cream....
Good news, friends and lovers of ice cream everywhere. The Pied Piper will be opening on Saturday, February 24, at 11:00am for her first day o' business.
We will be serving ice cream, soda, shakes, sundaes, even banana splits, so treat yourself while the weather is warm!
I've been making ice cream all week, and it's such a fun job. I think I was born for this. Forget American Idol, my destiny is Ice Cream Mogul (and you're welcome to call me that when you come to the store).
In the interest of information sharing and enticing you to the shop, I'll mention a few of the wonderful flavors...
I Can't Believe It's Not Butterfinger:
Okay, it is butterfinger. Lots of it. Suspended in the creamiest vanilla ice cream you've ever had occasion to deliver to your mouth.
It's Still Rocky Road to Me:
Um, yeah. It's Rocky Road. You can't have an ice cream shop without Rocky Road. It's an ice cream staple. Rich chocolate ice cream loaded with mini marshmallows and slivered almonds.
Cherry Springer:
This is just a working title. I thought it might effectively indicate that we don't take ourselves too seriously over here at Pied Piper. But then I got to thinking about this particular ice cream. See, it's an amaretto and cherry flavored ice cream that is packed to the gills with chopped dark chocolate covered cherries. It's decadent. It's kind of serious. And it deserves a far more distinguished name than Cherry Springer. Can anyone help? Cherry Lewis? Email me with suggestions, and if I use your name, you get a complimentary scoop.
The Movie Star:
Yummy lemon custard ice cream with a hint of Ginger. The Professor would choose this one over MaryAnn any day of the week. In fact, if they'd had this flavor on Gilligan's Island, they wouldn't have been trying to get back home. They would've been too busy eating ice cream.
Banana Fanna Fo Fudding:
Take sweet Cream Ice Cream with hints of vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg, cram it full of fresh bananas, swirl in a bunch of bite size vanilla wafers, freeze to perfection. Warning: This ice cream might cause swooning. It's that southern. It's that good.
Well, I'm off to make the ice cream. Got to be ready for all of you eager ice cream eaters on Saturday.
