it is late. it has been one long day. i care not to recap all of it. one of the refreshing parts (not counting my recent order of fair trade coffee) was finally making it to the cohort meeting. got to hang with the old friends, sorry i didn't get into the presenters, then seeing some other friends whom i recognized from the prior umerging event and blogging that are in town for the emergingumc event. spent some time working out music for the event, after that, it was conversations and some coffee with friends.
taylor led a good session on outlining emerging/missional community from a methodist perspective. i will leave it up to someone who took better notes to blog about it. if no one does, then maybe i'll steal some notes. mostly though, tonight was about making connections. in sitting down looking over the schedule, someone said, "i've never heard of any of these speakers." my response, "that is because everyone is a practitioner." it is true, no names for the event, just people living this stuff out as faithful as they can. so it should make for a good learning experience.
